I have to admit this one took me a minute to get into. I think because even though I have read most of the stories in this series I must have missed one that mattered. It took me a minute to figure out the relationships and how they connect. But once I hot past that, I loved Jay and Keris together. They fit. I loved how Ms. Carter allowed Keris to become more aware. I loved seeing her through Jay's eyes. This was an enjoyable read and I look forward to where Ms. Carter will take us next.

Human Jay shows the Lathar a thing or two and AI Keris proves where there is a will there is a way. I love this series. Each story is so different, the characters fresh and relatable, the “world” brought to vivid life. Humans are thought of as the Lathar’s lesser cousins, but don’t let it get them down. Even though Jay and the girls are well trained soldiers they are lighthearted, bringing tongue in cheek humor that totally goes over the Lathar’s heads. I laughed out loud several times. But in the end the unusual romance between a human man and an artificial intelligence and the lengths they go to to be together drive this fast paced thrilling tale.

Action packed and cute

I can't say that this book went exactly like the blurb had led me to believe, there was a lot more romantic build up and a lot more storyline with her in the body and her relationship with Jay before anything else happened... But it was a very sweet story and I enjoyed reading it. Very well done

I am sooo excited to get this story! We have seen AI Keris through multiple books in this series. This is the fourteenth book in the series and it can be read as a standalone but we have met these characters in previous books (Jay and Keris get connected and play a part in a few earlier books). If you have read the previous books you will definitely get some extra enjoyment out of knowing these characters from those books. I absolutely loved these characters and watching them find their happy ending. They definitely have a journey to get to their happy ending. This story pulled me in from beginning to end. There is plenty of action and intrigue that holds your attention the whole time. Once I started, I didn't want to put it down. I truly loved this story and can't wait for more in this series!
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

An entertaining addition to this series.
This couple have been through a lot. So much drama and danger surrounds them.
She's an AI which confuses me as far as emotions go but the author made their relationship work.
An exciting read, I enjoyed it.

Keris is an enhanced AI. When she saw the enemy was about to blow up her ship, she saved her crew the best she could and then saved the sole human survivor. Since then she and Jay have been thick as thieves and even room-mates. Well if you can call her powering up in the corner of the living room being a roommate. But when the station's AI advises them of a printer that can give her the humanoid body she always wanted - Keris knows she has to take the chance.

Jay has always seen Keris as, well, Keris. He knows she is an AI, currently inhabiting a metal body, but to him, she has always been a person. Now with her newly printed body his previous feelings for Keris hits the orbit. But can he and Keris have a HEA when the B’Kaar, who detest all AI, suddenly appear on the station?

I loved learning of the weird family dynamics between Keris, Xaan and Rynn! Jay is going to have a hard time impressing these two that he's the best option for Keris!

Gracie and Seren are about to find themselves in the spotlight. But the biggest cliffhanger - Berr (one of the B'Karr) may be the mate of Jay’s birth mother. He was adopted and essentially ignored so catching up with Bio-Mum is not exactly top of his wish list. But Berr as step-daddy?? OMG
