WTF did I read? Napoleon from Animal Farm, with a little bit of Cujo or Jaws, is out to get revenge on mankind, especially the man who owns the slaughterhouse in town.

Bird Box was truly terrifyingly with its unknown existential threat. In this, Malerman’s newest horror novel, the threat is called out from the very beginning — a telepathic pig named Pearl. Pearl can plan, organize and make animals and people do her evil bidding. The end goal is for the pigs to take over the farm exacting revenge to everyone and everything that gets in the way of Pearl’s plan. Much more gruesome than Bird Box but equally as disturbing.

This is easily the worst book I’ve read by Malerman. I usually enjoy reading his books, so when I found this at my local bookstore, I picked it up. This story dragged, and it had many sexual comments where there didn’t need to be. An example of this is towards the end of the book where Jeff thinks he is touching the penis of the pig that was squishing him. I am disappointed in this book. I had high hopes for it.
