Anecdotal and occasionally insightful but not particularly memorable. Felt the author was trying to cover too much ground and if you're looking for something deeper and more profound than just pop psychology, this book, taken as a whole, is not it.

These essays are short, to the point, and elegantly written. There is a lot of wisdom and unexpected insight in here. Grosz renewed my faith in the idea that no matter how inexplicable someone’s behavior may seem, even to them, there is a reason. An edifying read.
