Another fun romp with the Princess in Black! This one with a science fair and some great projects. After finding a home for a monster grown by a science fair volcano, the whole team of hard-working princesses have plans for future heroics. I can't wait to see what they come up with.

I know, I said I wouldn't read this series any more, but I just couldn't resist. I won't be writing a long review though. This time the monster was adorable and cute and gooey, I loved the ending and how happy he was. I wasn't too happy that we get yet again even more princesses who fight battles. Sure it is great that everyone is participating but it loses the charm and it loses the excitement if anyone can just do it. Plus, come on I believe Magnolia (and the other two) aren't fooling anyone with their disguises. Also did Magnolia really only do a poster? Everyone has something big, and she has a poster???? It seems so not her.

This book was so delightful. It’s a wonderful combination of fun feminist storytelling, engaging and diverse characters, science concepts, shenanigans that will appeal to your average elementary-aged kid, and clever wordplay and vocabulary building. Plus Pham’s lovely illustrations!

“I love it because they’re superheroes at the end!” says Violet.
And I loved the goo monster and his wonderfully illustrated expressions. And the way the monsters went back in the hole. Another great addition to the series.

I am enjoying this series with my 5-year-old. The ending leaves so much more to be discovered with the series!

Luckily my librarian told me that this series doesn't need to be read in any order, which is great since my five year old just picks whichever one has the cover that interests her the most.
