I had expected some more horror/mystery. But other then that it was good, too bad we will never know what happened to the people who went missing.

Some characters where just horrible (because of their attitude) and I have had a few times that I just wanted to close the book and stop reading.

Nice story, but I don't think I will re-read it.

Loved this- the film is one of my faves but had never read this before.

The book is about the ripples that occur from a tragedy, and the interaction between nature and development. The central mystery is a frame around which the story hangs and is stronger for the lack of total resolution. Like a film where you don’t ever see the monster clearly it lets your imagination run wild.
