I have mixed feelings about this book. I'm glad it exists, the diversity in gender and sexuality of the cast is so normalised and that is very refreshing.
I found the first half rushed, too much happening and too much told instead of shown. I will note that I don't know very much about Arthurian legend and part of me wished we'd gotten a little story time moment before the reveal that Ari is King Arthur reborn. It would've been a nice way to foreshadow so we didn't just get Merlin's character panicking and reminding everyone about doomed romances and the such.
I found all the romances in this rushed and excessively horny. I don't particularly gel with this as YA, there is a fair bit of swearing and sexual encounters that made me feel uncomfy as an adult (23yo) reading about details of the love life between teenagers. I hated the forced marriage inclusion and the discussion of babies when everything was already so rushed.

I wanted more banter and moments between the friend group.
