Man I just loved this.

I'm so bad at reviewing manga volumes and end up reviewing the whole series instead so I am making an effort before I crack open volume 2!

I basically knew that there would be a queer aspect to this love triangle story and I was ready to have my feelings all complicated by it. I don't know! Toma Mita is this super cool guy and Ichinose is awkward and a little bit of an oddball, yet those two used to be friends. Toma still hangs out but Ichinose doesn't think of them as friends. Kuze is a meek girl who Ichinose sees similarities with and dislikes for that reason. There is also a cool girl whose name i can't remember, but she's protective of Kuze.

I really love the theme of "best friend or lover" because to me, especially at that age, those feelings are confusing. You love your friends, people who are close to you can be unexpected. I'm not sure what else to say!! I really like the vividness of the line-work and the humor and the emotion. I think Kuze and Ichinose's friendship is my favorite part so far. I'm looking forward to learning more about what's going on inside Ichinose because we've only seen a little so far.

In this one the trio play battle pencils. The four of them go to the movies. Ichinose learns about how Kuze got her crush on Toma.

The end scene confrontation between Kuze and Ichinose was great, as was the confrontation between Toma and the other girl.

I'd love to learn more about what's going on with Ichinose why he wanted Kuze to get shot down. And what's going on with the horticulture club.

Toma - tall, popular guy
Taichi - shorter, awkward guy
Masumi - tall, gruff girl
Futuba - cute, shy girl
funny lighthearted medium-paced
