Inspector Maigret is sent to a small sea side village to look into an apparently random murder. This was an enjoyable audio with a brisk plot and nicely done narration by Gareth Armstrong.

I first listened to the audiobook and was confused. Then I read it and understood.
It is about a town's "aristocrats" who are cunning cowards. They trick an uneducated sailor out of his inheritance.
It is a fast pace story. Maigret comes across as omniscient.
It portrays the town and seascape in a vivid way. You can picture the houses, town center, docks.
I will probably read other Maigret stories.
