Perhaps the low score comes from the high expectations I had for this book. Perhaps the translation was off. Perhaps I missed all the Russian references so couldn't see the social commentary. Whatever the case, it was just so...jumpy? scattered? That could have worked for the crazy professor's part, but not for the entire book.

While reading the book, I had a vague recollection that I'd read it before. But still, even re-reading it, I did not like it at all.

Another Soviet satire, this starts out like a campy horror sci-fye but adds government regulation for a surreal twist.
