I have always felt a little different and this book made my feelings clear. I saw myself in the descriptions, which explained a lot. I did find much of it was not relevant to me and skimmed parts. I think it is a great place to start for HSP.

This book had some interesting points and insights, but parts of it were too New Age for me.

First part was good and helpful. It was long and dragged on. She’s very anti meds which I didn’t appreciate.

I felt it did not provide much help with my issues. I have known for a long time I was sensitive and get easily overwhelmed. I thought it might have more coping suggestions.

A solid book explaining why some people are much more sensitive than others and how to deal with it if you are one of those people. The descriptions of hypersensitivity definitely resonate with my own experiences. I wish it went into much more detail on how to deal with it in real life. Aron tries to cover too many topics-- childhood experiences, work, relationships, etc.-- that makes the book seem a bit unfocused and the information/advice too general to be truly helpful in any practical way.

Felt too much like the author was just trying to make readers feel better. I didn’t feel I was actually getting much out of the book as far as understanding/useful info. Maybe I didn’t read far enough.
