Peter Rabbit is a curious, intelligent, and determined rabbit. He is your typical underdog, more precisely, underrabbit. Did I mention he is stubborn, too?
Peter often challenges his mother regarding the dos and don'ts of safe behaviours for rabbits. Children and adults will enjoy the fast-paced and humorous plotline. Peter’s story illustrates the animals' ongoing struggle for survival and their complex coexistence with humans in the Lake District, England.
I believe that Peter Rabbit is a powerful role model for young children. Through Peter’s views and actions, Potter explores the significance of self-belief and the courage to venture beyond the unknown to reach one's goals. In Peter's case, his goal was not only to steal vegetables from Mr McGregor's garden but to torment the old man for his cruelty toward Peter's father, which adds an extra layer of complexity to the narrative.

It doesn't matter how often I read this story; I’m drawn to Peter's mischievous nature and his love for life beyond the family's burrow. :)

I was so worried for Peter and it was heartbreaking when he couldn't find his way back and started crying T.T The illustrations were perfect for the story. The world was so cute but the story itself was a tad bit horrifying and sad. I guess that's a theme with classic children's stories.
At least he got back ok!
