EVEN BETTER THAN BOOK ONE. I really love this continuation and the dual perspective really adds a lot to the telling. I felt like this could have been spaced out into 2 books. The battles felt very rushed.

In the first book I wasn’t really taken by the story and had so many questions.
But this 2nd book was packed with action, so much happened which is something I really love, no dull moment! 😜 I also got such a deeper connection to the characters and I really was invested in their story ❤️ I really loved listening to this book!

I really liked this, but not as much as the first book.
Firstly, I loved that it read poetically dark and beautiful in a brutal sense in some parts, especially during the interludes.
The world-building again is absolutely divine, especially when it comes to the residents and the building of L***r itself which is just so mesmerising, and the fight scenes are still incredible. We love a good fight sequence!
There are some disappointments though and I feel like it missed that spark that the first book had.
I wish Oraya weren't so easily forgiving and had taken a more vengeful route at first, I feel like her character took a step back, and that all those years of training weren't utilised as such.
What bugged me most which I can't forgive, is the quote "there she is", it was used way too much, and it bugged the hell out of me.
I still really enjoyed reading this though, and that beautiful ending which left us on somewhat of a cliffhanger, I hope it's something that pops up in the next few books. I'm looking forward to seeing where the story will go.

I really enjoy Carissa Broadbents writing. Made me interested to read the next books. Been consuming them like crazy and didn't realize I would enjoy vampires so much
