This was a solid start to the series. I will say it would’ve been a solid three except for the timeline and the ages of the main characters are so hard to figure out. She’s 20ish but also a sophomore in college but she studied abroad for two years and took a gap year? It didn’t make a lot of sense in that aspect, still good though and very clear that the author knows a lot about the sport!

Scarlett is back in Minnesota, fresh from a breakup with a hot shot F1 driver, trying to figure out what she wants to do with her life. Leo is a star NHL player juggling hockey and hitting the books during the off-season. They meet at a bar, have a steamy night, and bam, sparks fly. But twist! Leo soon realizes Scarlett is his coach's daughter, adding a layer of complication to their budding romance.

Now, Leo? Total sweetheart alert! He's the kind of guy who'll go the extra mile to win over his dream girl, even if it means breaking a few rules (like the whole coach's daughter thing). From fixing Scarlett's car to leaving her favorite coffee outside her door, Leo's gestures are enough to make any heart swoon.

Scarlett, on the other hand, is still figuring things out at 21. She's relatable in her struggles, but let's be real, sometimes she comes off a tad immature. Despite that, the chemistry between her and Leo? Off the charts! Their steamy moments together add some serious spice to the story, keeping you hooked and rooting for them to figure it all out.

"Wildcat" may not reinvent the wheel in the hockey romance world, but it's a fun ride nonetheless. It's got everything you'd want: swoon-worthy moments, steamy scenes, and a healthy dose of drama. So, if you're in the mood for a charming sports romance with plenty of feels, give "Wildcat" a shot. You won't regret it!

I am listening to this via Audible 🎧
The narrations were so good. Clear, concise, and the emotions were portrayed really well.

I really like Leo & Scarlett.
Leo is such a sweet, golden retreiver kind of guy. I liked that even though Scar is his coachs off-limits daughter, he didn't shy away too much. He kept it a secret at her behest mostly.
Scarlett, as misguided as she is, I like that she let her life just guide her. She came home to start again, and the photography thing worked out.

I loved it when Leo punched out that dude who was talking crap about Scar, trying to say she would be passed around.
I hated the ex-bf showing up randomly. That sucked, but I like how it kind of brought Leo's feelings to the surface even more. Like it solidified his insta-attraction had morphed into love.
