I didn't even finish this book. I was really annoyed with how they handled the two female characters. When the bad guy starts attacking the women both just stand there and go "No. No." which doesn't work out for them very well. While the two male characters handle it like normal people and fight back or run.

I love Pendergast. That is all.

Although the suspense / thriller genre is not generally my favorite, it does provide a fun break from the heavier stuff I tend towards. James Rollins and the writing duo of Douglas Preston and Lee Childs are a couple of favorites. These books are quick-reads, and despite sometimes coming across cringe-worthy dialogue, cliched phrases, and overused descriptions (what the HECK is up with the use of 'sotto voce'), these books are typically fast-paced and fun.

Cemetery Dance is my latest read, and it didn't disappoint. Zombies, a mysterious (murderous???) cult, and the genius FBI agent all come together for an amusing ride through New York. I gave this one 4 stars for keeping my interest, and because I love Agent Pendergast.

My love for this series does not fade. This is the tale of an eccentric cult in upper Manhattan suspected of creating zombiis (this is how the book tells us is the correct spelling of the word). And a central character of the series is an unfortunate casualty--the journalist Bill Smithback is killed by one of these zombiis.

Although the loss of one of the essential characters is a great one, the fast pace of the book sets it up nicely.

Can't wait to read the next!

Si bien la evolución de Pendergast es muy buena a lo largo de los libros, las tramas de estos son cada vez más inverosímiles. Veremos si mejora en algún momento

so far I am intrigued, but very confused and dismayed by some of it & hte legal issues that drive the plot are totally unrealistic and impossible for me to overcome.
A victim of such a horrid crime would NEVER be let back into their apartment, without police protection, with the killer still on the loose. It would NEVER be cleaned that fast.....just saying,, due to DNA evidence.
Lack of police protection is just plain weird!!!?
The award dinner/ party is just bizarre- can't wait to see how that is resolved??? what was it???
She'd never be able to get released back to work without a doctor's exam/clinical eval or to live on her own in that apartmnet without one.
How a Zombie-person gets into a locked closed museum at night and knows where she works, lives,, etc.... too weird.

Another good one from the best writers in supernatural thrillers.

Good. Not great. Some scary moments. A bit of a disappointing ending. Hollywood theatrics meets Walking Dead. I was hoping for more.
