I think this was probably my fav of the series so far, but not by much. The books are solid, the angst is fairly low and when it happens it doesn’t drag on forever. Maddox was great. Dee was a little annoying at times, but she had her reasons. She kinda felt like a female Aiden as far as “no love”, “no real relationship. I liked the info share spread out the whole book v the “info dump” in Aiden’s book, so that was nice.

The epilogue was adorable. And bumped this into solid 4 star category.

On to Reid’s story!

I wasn't quite sure about this book when it began. I listened to the audio book. I started out being a little disappointed because it seemed like all Maddox and Dee did was have sex. I thought the narration was great.

The story started to pick up when Dee started to experience difficulties with the way Cami's life was changing, and how it didn't include her sometimes. I liked that Maddox and Dee grew closer and started to share more info about their pasts. I started to get a sense of the depth of their relationship and the issues that haunted each of them.

The next twist that made the story move along was a blast from Maddox's past. The drama, the crazy, the angst was kicked up a notch. The frustration as Maddox attempted to make stupid moves and the surprising source of advice.

Let me not forget the cake tasting and the wedding planner. That whole scene was enjoyable.

I knew it wasn't over. There was that one final slightly suspenseful twist. To top it off, I was so happy to get the awesome epilogue. (I am a sucker for a goid epilogue!)

A slow start to a book the became an Interesting, mildly angsty and suspenseful book that was full of love, loyalty, friendship, family, and romance.

Ps. Poor Jill, I empathize. This woman just wanted to be a homeowner. In this economy, I completely understand.

Maddox honestly could have just just bought her a house lol. He has the means, ya know...

Review:

2.5! Nearly 3 stars.

Wow, who knew this author was capable of writing DECENT sexual chemistry!

Not me after listening to the first 2 books of this series...

If i had given up after those first 2 books, I would have missed out on this.

I enjoyed Maddox and Dee's stories. Like I said, this author knows how to do chemistry, I guess she had selective amnesia during the beginning of the series, and remembered how to, just in time to write this book.

Things I didn't enjoy:

1.

I don't know why romance authors feel the need to make a big deal out of female character's ages when they dare to be at least 10 minutes older than the hero...

Dee is 3 years older than Maddox, but for some reason, this was worth mentioning in a way that makes it feel like she's 30 years older than him...

Peculiar...

If Maddox was the one 3 years older than her, it would not have been mentioned in that way at all.

2.

Also, I think this would have been a 3.5 stars if we didn't have Dee's POV at all.

We didn't need it frankly.

The story's pace and vibe suffered because the author added the heroine's POV...

3.

The baby-filled epilogue.

I don't like children, don't care for them. And this epilogue was just written to show me how every heroine in the series is now all barefoot and pregnant...

I would have much preferred an epilogue about Maddox and Dee enjoying their life together and having hot sex.

4.

And lastly, I think Dee's miracle magical therapist came out of nowhere just to give the author an excuse to drop the whole "I can't love" thing for the heroine...

It was too fast, and I don't think we spent enough time on it to make it believable.

I would have liked more push and pull, and the heroine fighting it, and Maddox pulling more to show her he loves her.

It's like the author was scared to have the heroine not say "I love you" for more than a page after the hero has said it...

Nah, I needed her to take her time.

But other than that, I enjoyed this story for the most part, wish there was more intimate scenes between them, though.

If two characters have good sexual chemistry, I want the author to take advantage of that and write a lot of sex scenes for them.

Maddox...YUM. From the premature silver in his hair to his loyal, steadfast personality - just YUM. Maddox and Dee met through Emmy and Cami (from Bentley and Aiden's story) and have a "friends with benefits" relationship, which is what both swear is the only thing they're capable of. Maddox judges himself so harshly for things he did in college and desperately tries to right his perceived wrongs while trying to deny his feelings for Dee.

Dee has been damaged by both her parents relationship and a jerk from her past. She can't put herself out there to be hurt again, no matter how amazing Maddox is. Watching their love story unfold is so sweet...I adore Maddox!!!

Words cannot describe how terrific this book actually is. Five stars are not enough. Melanie Moreland takes the reader once again inside the life of three very different men who are brought together because of their need to belong to something and to overcome the tragedies in their pasts. With the third book in the series, the reader is taken on an emotional journey that will make you laugh as well as cry. Maddox and Dee are the types of characters that fairy tales are made for. The two rising from the ashes and finding not only love but fighting and slaying the dragons in their pasts. I cannot recommend this book and the entire series enough. I would give this book 500 stars.

WOW OH WOW, where can I find me a Maddox of mine to take home?! Absolutely LOVED everything about him, he's a dirty talking, take no crap, controling Alpha who goes after what he wants. What woman wouldn't want that??
This is the 3rd book in in the series and what a book it was.....steamy sex scenes, romance, blackmail, panty ripping and a HEA all in one book makes it one amazing read that you will not want to put down and will comsume you from page one.
HIGHLY recommended this entire series, you will not be disappointed!!!
