I love the atmosphere “Kingdom of The Wicked” creates – witchy rituals, dark alleys, summons, bonds, gory murders – that was all great. Unfortunately, everything else falls flat.
The characters are one-dimensional and serve mostly as a background for Emilia, our MC. Emilia herself is a very simplistic character, the one who doesn’t take much time to create. The demons are tragically caricaturical. Wrath is stripped of anything demonic whatsoever.
The plot unravels by itself, meaning things just happen. And, as mentioned many times before by other readers, everything Italian was butchered by the author.
All in all, “Kingdom of The Wicked” is a fast-paced, entertaining and fun read. But not much more.

The only reason this book didn't get 5 stars was because the first 4 or 5 chapters talked more about food than anything else.

I enjoyed the story and the concept is interesting, with the 7 deadly sins as Princes of Hell. However I do wish there was more worldbuilding. Other than the restaurant, church and market place, it's difficult to picture the scenery and world as a hole.

The book is incedibly boring to me. I am half way through the book and I don't like a single character, the worldbuilding is limited to mostly italian food, and the plot is fully dependend on the stupidity of the main character. Once this girl has a single intelligent thought, the story would be over and the world would be saved, because apparently she's an all-powerful witch without even trying. I do not care for anyone or anything in this book and I really tried to.

This book was very fast-paced and I adored the MC! I also like that her quest for vengeance was her main motivation to where there were very few lines she wouldn’t cross, despite what she’d been warned of.
I shouldn’t have been surprised that her and Wrath were in a matrimony bond, and I’m so curious and excited to see how their previous (but unknown to her) engagement is going to factor into her being Hell.
Loved most of the characters and the reveal at the end of the true killer was a genuine surprise to me. Also the sexual tension between Wrath and Emilia was *chef’s kiss!*

This book took me a while to get through, but overall I found it quite intriguing. Watching Emilia comb through clues with her reluctant sidekick was quite amusing, even if her denial of fact was a tad frustrating.

The plot really picks up towards the end, and some lore is actually given, albeit a tad predicatable if you are reading the context clues correctly.

I mean, you're telling me that this-
“No one knows for certain, (...) Some believe it refers to the use of light and dark magic. Few think it means a prince will fall in love with a witch."
-isn't the plot of every enemies to lover's romance, I am supposed to remain oblivious???  I think the fuck not, and I honestly love and respect that it doesn't shy away from the trope, but rather embraces it wholeheartedly.

Overall, this book was a tad slow on the uptake, but it was quite a nice starting point for the series. Emelia's revenge has only just started, and I am eager to see the wrath (yes, I went there) she brings down upon the princes, and those who ultimately have caused Vittoria's death. I am also keen to see what Wrath's part to play will be, as he was little too quiet and unnaturally withdrawn at the end. I know he's strategizing, but how he plans to fulfill his plan is something look forward to watching.

Sometimes all you need is a cannoli to give as a peace offering to a demon prince.

It’s fine. It’s nothing spectacular, and I expect the spice to be way better in Kingdom of the Cursed. The idea is cool, I just don’t know if it was executed as well as it could have been.
