This book was hyped up, soI may have gone in with higher standards than I should have, but overall, this book felt like a rush job but also dragged on forever. The idea had so much potential, but the way it was put together was a letdown. The plot and characters both felt scattered and underdeveloped.

Es ist nicht schlecht, aber halt auch kein Banger🤷🏽‍♀️

Seit langem mal wieder ein Fantasy-Buch und was soll ich sagen… hatte gehofft dass es mich umhaut. Spoiler: hat es nicht.
Die ersten 100-150 Seiten waren sehr schleppend, was bei Fantasy mit world building hier und da ja öfter mal so ist. Es ist gefühlt nix passiert, was nicht schon durch den Klappentext klar war. Aber es wurde besser. Kam dann auch langsam in einen Lesefluss und habe das Ding dann auch recht schnell beendet. Die Story war gut, hat meiner Meinung nach aber deutlich mehr Potenzial. Zumindest in Teil eins fehlt mir der plot twist und die Verbindung zwischen Emilia und Wrath war auch eher so lauwarm. I mean vielleicht muss das auch alles so sein, damit Buch 2 besser funktioniert, aber Band 1 leidet halt etwas an der fehlenden Spannung.

Und ja, hab trotzdem die anderen beiden Teile gekauft. Hoffe sehr dass ich es nicht bereue… gerade sehr 50/50 ob das noch n richtig gutes ding werden kann🫠

If you’re looking for the same vibes as her first series, Stalking Jack the Ripper, this is NOT it. I DNFed this about half way through. Definitely not worth the hype.
