It was cute. It was like watching an episode of Lizzie McGuire but reading it as a book. A young girl (probably 11-13) might enjoy it.

This is my first venture into the Lizzie McGuire Literary Universe™ and being a HUGE fan of the TV show, I wanted to try out the books as well! Of course, I didn't expect anything super elaborate or absolutely groundbreaking and this first book is neither of those but it is fun! You get two episodes per book and they're pretty much just the written form of them but I really enjoyed getting a little bit of extra insight into what Lizzie is thinking throughout all the shenanigans she puts herself through (did you know that What's Lizzie Thinking? was the working title for the TV show?). This book in particular features one of the best Lizzie McGuire episodes - "Between a Rock and a Bra Place", where Lizzie and Miranda decide that they are totally adults who need bras. Most of the episodes aren't brave enough to actually talk about puberty so this is a particularly refreshing and important one! Verdict? If you're a huge fan of the show, or a tween in your life is, go for it! Otherwise, just watch it on TV and you won't be missing out on anything.
