Through the first chapter, I was a little concerned that this book was going to be basically a repeat of the last. But it wasn’t! Really enjoyed it and took some good ideas away from it.

Two thirds of this books is just a bunch of made up words with the author's own spin on sociology. Seriously, if I wanted to learn about my "thrownness" I would just go back to my undergrad SOC 101 class and be done with it. Only three chapters actually devote any meaningful direction with ways to tackle negative self talk.

I have a difficult time taking self help books seriously when they are not written by licensed professionals, and this one is no exception. I thought that Bishop's first book was enough for me. Maybe all of his best ideas were put into that one.

This book….really helps you open your eyes to your own life and how you handle your issues. It’s life changing. Gary John Bishop wins again.

Honestly not a bad book. I however didn't connect to it as well I wished. Gary has a lot of great information and excellent quotes that I had to save to my phone to remember. I feel this book would get a higher rating the second time I read it.

I read a lot of self help type of books. None has really helped me more than this one. Do yourself a favor and listen to the audio book. The author reads it himself!

Have you tried just being better?

Good if you need a good pep talk but otherwise an oversimplified CBT. There’s probably some merit to sessions with this Counselor but it doesn’t translate well to the page.
