The middle is a bit slow but if you read it fairly quickly its not bad. Don't put it down half way and come back days later-then it feels way too long and drawn out. The last 200 pages are so good

I did enjoy this book, it was easy to fall into, especially after reading the first one in the series, the characters were built up well and the dual storylines of both Karou and Akiva was interesting to follow and gave insight into both opposing sides. However, the book was more slow paced and was overall not as enjoyable as the first book.
