I unfortunately did not connect with the main character, which led me to not finish this book. To me, a character is very important to a story and only very few things can sway me to finishing a book when I don't feel a connection with the main character. In this case, it might have been cause by Alice not really knowing who she is herself, however, I have previously read books where the main character did not remember anything about her life before and those worked well.
Nonetheless, the writing worked well for me. The narrator's voice was pleasant and engaging, even though it could not make me overcome my difficulty in relating to Alice.
