Very nice. I enjoyed the characters a lot and the world building was lovely. The climax I'd imagined differently, but it was good as well. I definitely wished for more about Ember, but that's next book.

The Beauty and the Beast vibes were perfect and flew through this book.

I enjoyed this Beauty and the Beast retelling. It is a very short a sweet story. I wish they were a bit longer to give the characters more time to get to know one another.

The story itself was very cute and engaging.

Had high hopes for this book. A book that is later in the series was recommended from Booktok but I just can’t convince myself to continue with these books. I was 80% done and almost didn’t finish it bc I literally didn’t care. The characters were very one dimensional and most of the dialogue was super cringe.

5 star read

From the very beginning, I was not a fan of Gemma. She had obviously been through a lot, and I wanted her to find that freedom she was so dead-set on, but I also felt she was kind of selfish. I'm glad to see that things worked out for the best in the end, one way or another. The writing was brilliant and I loved Elliot and the progression his character went through. Another unique retelling of an overly familiar tale. I don't know for certain that there's an order to these books, but reading this one felt like it rounded out the Cinderella retelling.
