3.5 star. Good start and strong ending, but I tuned out a little in the middle. Harlan is not afraid to throw some surprises and deaths in his story.

I’ve wanted to dabble in crime/thrillers for some time now but I’ve been too nervous about picking up a bad one. So I thought, let’s find an author who’s known to be damn good at it.

So when I started and wasn’t sure, I was like “uh oh”. I think maybe to start I found the nuclear family with one kid that’s gone off the rails a bit predictable. I also, to start with, wasn’t keen on the MC.

But that didn’t last long. This went places I didn’t expect it. The writing was easy to follow, with plenty of questions popping up that you want answers for.

The last few chapters in particular, the reveals of bits of crucial informations were both twisted and delicious. You didn’t see them coming, but when they landed, they were satisfying.

But behind it all the driving question: what would you do for the people you love the most?

This book was lent to me by a coworker, and I loved it! From the first few pages, I was engaged - the book is sprinkled with many themes that I’m a sucker for, so I knew I’d be interested.

This is a mystery/thriller with many thrill factors and some overly convenient tie-up endings. I don’t care haha. I couldn’t stop turning the pages, and I am eager to read work from this author again. I found the story creative and enjoyed each of the narrators’ perspectives.

Holy crap!!!
This is my first book by this author, and I can't wait for more!
I loved all the twits and turns, but holy crap, that ending!!!
This book started with lots of different groups of characters, that seemingly had no connection. It built and built, more connections made, then the last five pages; just wow! This one will sit with me for bit!

Typical excellent entry from Coben! (Really 4 and a half stars) Several disparate threads at the outset that are a tad confusing when you get started but the end is a knock out!

It was alright but ash and deedee felt so cartoonish and their plot was so uninteresting the whole time.

Loads and loads of twists and turns of which I wasn't expecting but pleasantly surprised. If you like a good, who done-it, this is a good read for you.
