I've been missing Succession and this book was a salve for that specific type of heartache. I found this to be very well-written, with complex and interesting (if at times unlikable) characters. P.S., in my head, I pictured Adam exclusively as Bill Walton, who passed during my time reading this book. Rest in Peace Bill, you are a San Diego legend.

A domestic family fiction with a sucker punch to the gut.

We have the Gardner family.
Ken is a businessman with political ambition.
Abby, the sister, an artist relying on her brothers good will to sustain her creativity and Adam, their father, who is a brilliant oceanographer, but he's decided to come off his bipolar medication!

Que Steph, who is new to the area and about to unearth some deep dark secrets!

🎭 Family Drama
🪆 Family secrets
🎨 Strained relationships
🎯 Elements of control

This story has good pace, interesting characters, and a wonderful sense of place based in Cape Cod.

Would’ve given it a 5 if the men had actually seen repercussions for their horrible beliefs and actions.
