A fun read. Not great literature but definitely enjoyable and made me check out his other novels.

This was a surprisingly enjoyable novel about office life and working for a giant corporation that you don't fully understand. Barry chucks us into an, at first, confusing world of cubicles and office politics and then right when you're about to put the book down and give up on it, he does a complete 180 and turns your perception around. This turned out to be a very well written story and incredibly relatable to anyone who works in or near a cubicle. While this isn't quite Office Space as far as the humor goes, it is there. This novel is driven by small cast of characters who you find you can immediately relate to and empathize with. While it's not for everybody, it's definitely for any who works at a place where they feel they are merely a number or a rat in a maze.

3.5 stars.
This book does an amusing job of poking fun at the most irritating aspects of office jobs and is outlandish enough to be fun. The ending is ridiculous but satisfyingly so. I appreciated the sense of the absurd mixed with social commentary.

Starts out as a series of really funny/surreal office vignettes that will resonate with anyone that's ever done time in a big, soulless corporation. Unfortunately, the resolution of the story will come off as false to anyone that's ever done time... etc.

This is a great book. I highly recommend it to anyone who works in a large company, anyone who has temped in an open space planned warehouse-sized office, or wondered whether there is an end to the seemingly infinite chain of line managers.
It's funny, smart, and VERY irreverant. If there's anything to be reverant about.

Definitely a great read for people who liked the humor in Office Space. Also a pretty cathartic read if you're as disgusted by "corporate culture" as I am :3
