For some reason, I just love this book. Exactly as advertised—quick, stand alone read that was great during a book slump. The story is well-paced and I like the unhinged MMC. The world-building and character development are perfectly well-contained to one story and I felt perfectly satisfied by the end. It’s refreshing to start and finish a book without needing to dig into a whole series. Having said that, I’m looking forward to reading the rest of the series.
The audiobook is well done with duet narration. It’s become my current favorite comfort listen when I need something but don’t want to start a new series.

This book is exactly as advertised. The premise is interesting, and while it could stand to be a bit more flushed out, the disclaimer warns that it won't be. It really is a simple story about a terrifyingly obsessive young man romancing his lonely future wife from afar and showing his devotion when they can finally be together. He's totally unhinged and attached to her in a less than healthy way, but it works.

I read this book with my eyes last year but don’t think I ever posted an official review. So when I decided to reread the audio version I knew I wanted to be sure to post something. This book is SO. FUN. The MMC, Nick, is so wonderfully unhinged and truly had me giggling at times. I kid you not he will fight a chair for looking unstable and that’s on the tamer end of what he’ll do for his mate, Amelia. 😂 Amelia is so kind hearted and such a great balance for Nick. Honestly this book is just what you should read if you need a little laugh and a good time sprinkled with some fantasy-lite. The audio production was well done and I can’t wait for book 2’s audio! Jamie is a fave author for a reason and this series is truly amazing.
