There's dramatic writing and then there's willfully misinterpreting a primary source to suit your portrayal of a person's character.
I found the narrator’s style and intonation distracting to the point of ruining the experience. I recommend sampling the audio before committing.

An interesting part of history however I think the two people written about might best be kept separate. This books reads more like historical fiction than true-crime unless you look at the fair as the biggest crime of all which I wouldn’t argue.
I went in thinking it would be more about Holmes then the architecture of the fair, so I was a little disappointed. My biggest issue is just how it portrays women and humans in general during this time as being severely incompetent or just plain stupid for lack of a better word. Although many aspects of the events were knew to America and Chicago in particular it seemed even the people who designed the fair weren’t rightfully prosecuted for their negligence and misconduct causing even more deaths than the devil himself.

Wow , it took nearly a month ! It's a right chore to read this , I guess it's cause it's wrote in matter of fact story kind of way !
I enjoyed parts , but parts were just boring ! Oh , another chapter about the world fair , who cares ! I don't quite understand the link , I think it's cause you probably be unable to write a book just about Holmes so you have to make half of it about how buildings get built or delayed
I'm still looking forward to the film ! I'm sure it will focus a lot more on Holmes !
( I hope )

There are some rather pointless asides but otherwise, now I know a lot more about the background of that episode of Timeless.
