“I really shouldn’t have worn heels to my very first heist. ”
Here are reasons to read the YA Mystery book:

  • Banished Daughter - Olivia and her mother have been banished from her affluent father’s house after he cheated
  • Wedding - and now he is getting remarried. So during Olivia cooks up the ultimate revenge plan
  • Heist - she puts together a heist with a few acquaintances in order to get the money that she needs to put her family’s life back together.

I was so ready to read this heist book, and overall it was a solid read. It’s about found family, smart women, and just a lot of fun. In general I think the book could benefit from tightening up the storyline, but I really didn’t mind some issues I had because I enjoyed the ride so much. If YA mystery is your jam, consider this one.

I LOVE a good heist story and this one was so much fun! I don't read a lot of YA these days but even as an adult I really enjoyed this. It was fast-paced and silly and entertaining with a really likeable crew of characters (and even the not-so-likeable ones end up growing on you!), and I would totally read another book about their future adventures.

The interactions between the characters, the romance side-plot, and all the unexpected twists made this a very bingeable read, while also providing room for character development. I appreciated Olivia's complicated feelings about her dad - families are tricky! - and she was very easy to root for as a heroine.

I recommend this for those looking for an entertaining, lighthearted read with lots of drama and subplots that doesn't take itself too seriously. I've had my eye on these authors for a while and look forward to reading more from them!

What I love the most about this story is the scheming and the fun member of the heist!
It wasn't just a simple heist and Olivia's dad is not just a simple rich annoying guy. He has a couple of dark secrets of his own and Olivia is going to steal it along with his money 🙌

Not just the suspense of a heist going, the side second chance romance plot is also delightful to see.
It’s interesting to see Olivia’s relationship with her father and watching her character grow throughout the story.
I like seeing the unexpected friendship Olivia formed with her crew members.
My favorite member would be Kevin, he really liven up the story and I have to admit he was pretty smart too!

The ending feels quite satisfying with a couple of twists thrown there but things look far from over based on Olivia's dad last words.
I really hope this get a sequel or form a series because I would like to get back with the funny gang again 🙌🙌 and maybe planning another heist 👀👀

Overall, it’s an entertaining and enjoyable read, it’s perfect for teens!
If you like reading a YA story about scheming, romance, secrets, families and revenge then this book might be for you!
I’m looking forward for the next book by this author in the future!🥰

Thank you to TBR and Beyond Tour, Netgalley, author and publisher for giving me an e-ARC of the book and for having me on this book tour. I’m leaving this review voluntarily!

A fun heisty novel!

Docking a star because it started to drag a little for me around halfway through, but an overall enjoyable book with some great characters and a plot that takes place all over the course of a single day!

Such a good YA heist book, I don’t read these too often, I do find heists to be better watched than read, but this books had the perfect amount of description that I felt like I was watching each scene as it played out! When the book started I was curious how the heist would be the bulk of the book, but as I was reading it, and came across all the twists and turns I fully understood why the book started as it did. The characters were all flushed out, I loved how you got to know some interesting things about each of the heist members, but also the outsiders.

The pacing was well written, as every time you think they’ve gotten away with the heist, another twist or problem is thrown in! Kevin was a wonder problem that kept probleming but also added a lot of humor to the story as well! Great, enjoyable read from start to finish!

A good pacing for a peculiar heist that happens during a wedding.
Olivia's father is marrying for the third time, and he has expelled his teenage daughter from his house.
She wants her inheritance and revenge not just for her but for her mom.
Olivia gathers a team of those who were wronged before, and they join her, each with a skill. They are hilarious, and the plan is great.
Her ex showing up at the wedding shakes things a little. Also... some of the guests notice the heist, and instead of stopping them, they join the revenge.
Very fun read. They have chess pieces code names, and I love the teacher McCoy with his guilt and second guessing while helping them.
