This booked fucked me up in ways I didn’t expect by tapping into emotions and experiences I thought I had buried.

Considering his education and accolades it is no surprised that Mohsin is a gifted writer and storyteller. Every page drips with authenticity and honesty, I didn’t feel that any moments were embellished or overplayed.

The pacing was spot on and despite him being fairly young, the ‘arc’ of the book felt organic and earned.

An emotional tale about how a Muslim gay boy came to terms with his sexuality and how we strived for the acceptance of his family. We literally went through his whole life from when he realised he was gay to him forming relationships.
