Who knew murder and torture could be so much fun? I was lucky to snag an ARC from GRR from this - it looked like it might be fun and it was! Toby is a paranormal romance author who spends too much time in his head and doesn't really know how to people. Dex lives next door and as a hellhound, he is even more clueless. These two were so sweet together, even with all the murder and mayhem. I'm so glad I read this and now I can't wait for the next in the series.
I've just re-read this book in preparation for How to Hack a Hellhound. Whilst waiting for this book, I read the whole Demonic Disasters series. Whilst it's really not necessary to read them before this series, I found my second read more fun as I had a better understanding of Paradise Falls and its inhabitants

This is a fated mates paranormal romance, featuring Quinton and Liam, and is book two in the Hellhounds Of Paradise Falls series.
Quinton is a snarky grump, set on dismantling the trafficking ring behind kidnapping him — even if it means working with the intense, mysterious man who saved him. Liam is a hacker hellhound with a protective streak a mile wide and a growing obsession with Quinton, and he will do anything to keep Quinton safe.
This story is the perfect amount of humour, spice and emotion. I loved it! I am obsessed with this series and can’t wait for book three.
Things to expect in this book are:
Book 2 in series
MM romance
Paranormal
Fated mates
Slow burn
Hurt / comfort
Living with past trauma
Seeking vengeance
Snarky black cat MC
Hellhound x barista
Size difference
Stalker vibes
Voyeur / exhibitionist kink

Quirky pet names
Found family

What a sweet, funny and steamy story!
The MCs were an absolutely delight. Dex's lack of understanding of humans was hilarious and Toby's awkwardness was adorable. They made the perfect couple.
There is also a mystery, lots of scenes with the hellhound in protective mode and a bunch of brothers who added great moments to the novel.
Also, every time Dex said "my Toby" my heart melted a little.
I loved it so much and I can't wait to read the next one in the series.

This is a quick and completely inoffensive read, but I found it too shallow to be particularly enjoyable.
I think this book has a decent opening; a bit funny with a hint of chemistry between the main characters. Unfortunately it felt like a lot of unreached potential in the end. The characters don’t really have much depth or any development. Toby feels like a generic author self-insert, and I don’t think we’re even given a physical description of him for the entire book. I couldn’t picture him clearly, and the blandness of his characterization made it impossible for me to be invested in his arc. The romance opens with a bit of intrigue but then becomes insta-love without even the benefit of fated mates as an explanation. Also, the central third act conflict feels rushed and anti-climactic.
I think this would be an okay read for someone looking for a very short and super simplified plot/romance, but I wanted more.
