This was so silly, I swear i had fun, loll, I just can’t physically give it more than 3 stars lmaooooo and I’m also slightly mad that we literally forgot about Toby’s friends. Like.. wtf?
This also felt kind of childish at times but it was what made it fun, it’s a cute, straightforward read!

'Not everyone thought talking about torture and dismemberment was fun, but it was totally our love language.'
While I enjoyed this book, it was lacking in areas and never fully caught me. I enjoyed the set up and concept, the introduction to Toby & Dex was entertaining. Honestly I kind of liked the spark before they get together, more then when they actually get together as the chemistry seemed to disappear...
The initial silliness, the awkwardness between them with Toby's writing and Dex comments on forms of torture trying to be helpful. The hammer, peeking through windows and Dex being able to hear everything.
It was all so very charming to start with their interest in one another, but then it's abrupt as they get together quickly and it turned into basically spice whenever together once the stalker situation came about. Which was pretty flat and any of the romance seemed to fall apart, to focus on other areas and I just got bored...
This may have worked if fated mates, as there was something to do with marking. Yet it wasn't that either, so the way they're suddenly in love instead of just lust felt out of nowhere.
Anyway I was still entertained by the concept and world building, I loved getting to know a bit of each of the hellhounds and I'm excited to try more in the series. As they all sound interesting in their own ways, along with Toby's friends and the guys rescued in this book.
Overall it felt like a fast paced and humourous tale, with a happy ending for Dex & Toby 🔥

okay this was so fun in a 2010s paranormal romance type of way. certainly goofy at times but i couldn’t help but enjoy it
