I’m still thinking about this one and I finished it two days ago. It’s haunting and beautiful. I loved the dynamic between the main characters.

I liked the feeling of dread you got at certain parts of the story and it was easily to follow with so few characters, however there’s so many unanswered questions!?? Why was there a soy hole from the attic into the main house? What was the dead mouse and blackbird all about? Why could she hear someone crying behind the bath? Why was Cara and Peter’s relationship the way it was??

This was a super, super, super slow read. The ending was also super predictable. It had a beautiful setting and the imagery was fantastic. But it was way different than I expected.
