My jaw HIT THE FLOOR several times in this book. This entire series has been so well done and this final book was just ...*chef's kiss*.
While all of Sophie's books can be read as stand-alone titles, I highly recommend reading all of Kingmakers (and even Brutal Birthright & Colors of Crime) before reading The Spy. You will get so much more out of it.
I'm definitely sad to see Kingmakers come to an end but I can't wait to see what Sophie releases next!

Probably my favorite out of all the books I’ve read so far!!
Read The Spy!! Actually, read all 4 of The Kingmakers books starting with The Heir, The Rebel, The Bully and then The Spy. I absolutely love this book and this series so much! I have such a book hangover after reading The Spy. Sophie has made me laugh, cry, and become totally invested in so many characters that I wish I could be in the Kingmakers world so I could know them all. It it amazingly impressive how she tied everything together with this book. I've already begun my re-read cause i'm not ready to let the Kingmakers world go. That's how good this book (and the whole series) is.
4.5⭐️ Event though this isn’t the last book in the Kingmakers series, it ties up all the lose ends! We finally have the big picture on who everyone is, what their story is, and who they are with. I love that The Spy was kept secret as well his story.
Chap. 5 (13% in) is when we learn who the spy is! If you’ve read the suggested reading order that includes the other series, you’ll know who he is based off the huge clues given!
I’m so loving this book bc I loved the spy in the other books and was hoping he’d get his own story. We also have other plot lines going from another series which is exciting bc we get to see more of another epic romance.
Finally there’s movement on the main romantic relationship front at 50% in! Its slow burning, angsty and throw in the fact that we have some bisexual main characters?!? Yes! I loved how everything ended, it was such a high! We also are set up for the book couple.
**warning: rape, mention of child murder**
Worth the read?: YES
Reread?: YES

I liked this one, but didn’t quite love it like I did The Rebel and The Bully. Maybe that’s just cause I have a softer spot for Miles and Dean.
I thought the two main characters were certainly suited for one another, I just didn’t really feel the fire between them. I did like the story Lark told here, it had a lot of layers and there was so much scheming and it was action packed as all else, and I liked that. It just zipped along.
I really liked getting more of Hedeon’s story, he’s been of great interest to me from book one, and I enjoyed spending time with all the characters today. I think Lark certainly tied the series up in a really good, neat, fun way that was all warm and fuzzy.
I had fun with these books, and thought this was a good conclusion. I’ll go check out some more of this author’s work.
