The first two thirds of the book feel quite repetitive and the storyline doesn't feel as if it's progressing. In the final third the pace picks up a little which helps create the kind of tension you expect from a crime fiction book, however, by the final few pages it was starting to lag agian. Additionally, though it ultimately becomes clear, the use of transcripts and 'found' audio files mostly just felt gimmicky.

bloody difficult to read, definitely a unique ending but otherwise not as well done as it could have been. maybe it’s too british for me?
