I really wanted to say I hate this book and lower my score just because it’s not the ending I wanted but the ending I wanted would of also been probably a huge let go to everyone. I wanted everything to work out and also kind of wanted it to fall back on Tor there for a bit when he made the most sense. I literally wanted to scream and go bezerk when my poor baby Franklin suddenly went all mass murderer again making me think it was all fake. But then realizing it was his mother’s fuck up AGAIN it just made it more painful to get through the last 20-30 pages knowing it was almost over but not knowing what they would do.
Also even as traumatic and fucked up it was I kind of was in love with REM and Franklins relationship when they were just chilling to when things got more personal and more feelings involved. Especially as things went on and we learned more. Like what if Tor never got involved like our boys could of had a thing but they got cock blocked. And then they got to have a little fling but I just wanted so much more. The end of their relationship was touching even if it hated it.
Overall though I loved all the characters and the fact that there was so much going on between everyone. The drama and all the lies that I could barely keep track of. I felt like every-time I knew what was going to happen or come up it just changed and I was left confused and just wanting more. Once things picked up after about 50 pages in I struggled to put this book down. For something I bought just off of a whim due to a somewhat interesting idea and it being cheap I’m honestly in love.

This is a brave book in many ways, and wasn't anything I was expecting. Nothing went as I expected it, and I could appreciate the twists and turns the story took. Side note: I appreciated that The characters sounded like teenagers, instead of miniature adults.
May have to check out Floreen's other book.

I finished this book in two days.

What gives us the right to change who he is just because he doesn’t fit in?
Took me a long time to complete it but it was because I was busy. The book is just perfect. Heartbreaking but beautiful. Really good writing, relatable characters. Add to that a good amount of mystery and you've got the recipe for a good book. Honestly loved it.

After having read Willful Machines, I hadn't quite switched my brain to prepare for how dark, gritty, and deep Tattoo Atlas would be. Boy, it is thought-provoking. Tim Floreen has done it again.
“I just don’t think I believe evil is some disease you can treat, like malaria.”
There are quite a cast of characters in Tattoo Atlas, from Rem, the main protagonist who witnessed his best friend murdered by a classmate, Franklin, said classmate who is now up for the cure for evil, Callie, Lydia, and Tor, Rem's other close friends, and Rem's mom, the scientist behind the implant that cures evil.
I supposed it was like we’d been saying last night: people changed all the time, for all sorts of reasons. But if people changed all the time, what was it we fell in love with when we fell in love with someone? An idea? An illusion? There had to be something there that didn’t change, right?
In the same vein of Willful Machines, Tattoo Atlas explores nature versus nurture and the concept of "evil" (murder) being something you can turn off with a switch (ish). Rem explores his own feelings - even if Franklin can be turned off, can he look at him the same way? It's the chicken and the egg conversation; are you a cured person first or always a monster?
Tattoo Atlas doesn't shy away from the violent culture we live in. Along the way, Rem's friends continue to be murdered and you're left wondering if the implant is working (or even can work), is there a copycat killer, or is there something more to be explored? There's a lot of conversation about what it means to be nice versus what it means to be good.

A part of me wants to take away a star for making me cry and break my heart, but I guess that’s not fair so 5 stars it is.
Flew through it and it was quite entertaining.
Some (spoilery) things felt a bit rushed and I know it’s a sci-fi but there were also some things I didn’t really found believable. But for the majority it was refreshing and I enjoyed it
