So I received an ARC Audio from NetGalley and it was missing Many Chapters, including the last 2 chapters. So it left me confused and on such a cliffhanger with unanswered questions. Fortunately for me I won the book on Goodreads and was able to read the book! So it went from 2

This was a frustrating read! It started off so strong, with two very interesting timelines that complimented each other well, some unexpected twists and turn, and very well-written creepy/dark atmosphere. You are just dying to know what is going to happen to the heroin and how/if she is going to get herself out of this situation.
However, once the action dies down in the last third of the book, I started to lose interest. The big reveal at the end was a little far-fetched and things seem to fall into place a little too conveniently. The reveal about the main character's father just seemed out of place and unnecessary. There was no satisfying explanation for the villain's actions besides "he was a jerk" and the main character's friends and allies kept dropping like flies, she just could not catch a break!!
Overall this was an interesting read and grabbed my attention from page 1, however it could have benefited from more hints throughout the book rather than endless "revelation" chapters at the end.

From page one of this book, I was hooked. Amelie is kidnapped with her husband by masked men who keep her in a dark room and never speak to her. In alternating chapters, we learn Amelie and Ned's history which may be a factor in this abduction. With B.A. Paris, it is almost a guarantee that what we think is happening is not even close to the actuality.So many things surprised me in the story. This is one that you need to read to believe!

Was so excited to get an advanced copy of this ebook. Another bingeable read. Definitely felt like this was different from what she usually writes. I had some theories, but was wrong like usual.
