this book was super cliche and i expected that going into the novel. i would've been fine with that, but i didn't like jared's reasons for bullying tatum (felt that there should've been MORE). he psychologically messed with her for years. i felt that tatum went back to him bc she felt a strong attraction to him + missed his friendship, but we never really see his 'kindness' (he's still cruel 80% into the book). i did enjoy the slower burn of the romance, though.
it didn't need the last act drama. this book involves a lot of slut shaming (by way of the FMC) and strong pick me energy. didn't care for any of the side characters, as they felt extremely 'trope-y.' overall, was a fast and easy read, but wouldn't reread again.
