Margaret Atwood is an expert at dissecting heterosexual sexual politics. This novel does just that and examines love, lust, freedom, and free will in a world one step further down the road of end-stage capitalism.

I liked the lighter tone of this as compared to MaddAddam, which I couldn't actually read.
Dystopia + Bizarro Plot + Strangely Compelling Characters = Four Stars
The details are funny, creative, and surprising. I'm fascinated that other reviewers think Atwood "tanked spectacularly" because it wasn't serious enough -- ever heard of satire, people?
Also, Dear Goodreads Community: Please, enough with the GIFs. Just. Stop.

Stages of reading this book for an Atwood aficionado:
1. Yay, new Atwood!
2. Nicely written.
3. Hm, the female lead reminds me a lot of Charis from Robber Bride. (this is not a good thing).
4. This... is never going to be my favorite Atwood.
5. Huh.
6. Wait, what?
7. This may actually be my LEAST favorite Atwood.
8. Um....
9. WHAT?
10. I actively dislike this book.
11. Thank God that's over.
(two stars only because the writing is excellent, but what in hellfire was that mess it was used in service of??)

So, basically, we should know by now that we could ask Margaret how to “survive” in a near-future dystopian society.

I can't wait for the next installment! Waiting is killing me.
Starts off with some horrific reality dystopian style.
A ride of imaginative twists and turns.
Ended with a touch of neural activity.
A horror story of well thought out conspiracies.
