This was a 2 1/2 star book. I have come to realize I'm not much a fan of the dystopia genre mostly because it is too depressing and pessimistic. This was an odd book.

This was a different book than I thought it was going to be and I didn't really enjoy the characters or the plot or the ending. Hence the two stars. I found the MC's annoying and unlikeable. At first the world building was good but then about half way that fell off as well. 2.5 stars. Not a good dystopian book in my opinion.

Woah. Just woah. Every time I thought I had a handle on this, it turned sharply. It tied my brain up in knots and then teased them apart, leaving me rolling ideas explored and suggested between audio sessions. I’m not sure you could imaging a better Charmaine if you tried. There is so much going on here. You want to read this!

Atwood is expert at building suspense, delivering the twisted plot. I'm a big fan of this book. My family all read it at the same time. It was a joy to discuss and turn to someone and go OMG....I know ...Iknow. Cheers to a great read!

2.5

I liked the premise, but I couldn't get into the story. There were some moments where it felt like Atwood was going to bring it all into focus, but then it just got weirder and more convoluted.

This book was a fun read, but the ending was such a cop out! It was like the author got sick of writing it and quick finished it. Entertaining for sure, but don't read it if you get frustrated without closure.
