This is the worm book I've been looking for. Engaging illustrations, great descriptions, interesting facts, and a story: this book has it all.

Another one of my boys' favorites -- interesting facts weaved into a story about worms. I learned a lot, too!

Excellent nonfiction book about worms disguised as a story. Love it. Highly recommended for ages 4-8.

There's a lot of talk about poop in this one...
adventurous fast-paced

A really nice illustrated book about worms. Great beginning science. Although cataloged as fiction, the contents are factual and there isn't much of a plot.

A boy is helping his grandmother in her garden when she tries to show him a worm. He is afraid of them and tells her to get rid of it. She quickly gives him a lesson on the truth about worms. This book is a mixture of narrative and nonfiction which makes the facts easier to read through. The end has an index for children who want to look back for something specific and there is also a section with ways that children can take what they've learned to their own garden. Nicely illustrated and face-paced, French also gives the worms their own personalities which only add to the approachable message.

Fun and informative book about worms, and a boy who initially thinks they’re yucky but then learns how important and helpful they are. Great book for getting children outside and exploring the busy world of tiny critters. Love the idea that worms are ‘underground farmers’.
