-Some lessons must be written in scars.
-To sow knowing that you will not reap is an old kind of love, and love has been the best key for unlocking the future.

Ancestors #3
Dark Fantasy
This trilogy should be read in order.
Book 1 we follow a child Nona and her PoV. What she sees, hears and knows, we do.
Book 2 we follow a young Nona and get glimpses from abbess Glass PoV throughout the book.
Book 3 we follow a still young but coming of age Nona. It has some time jumps around in this one.
In this trilogy Nona lives on a planet that is mostly ice and uninhabitable. The ice is converging and war comes between the different sets of people that live on the planet. As a child Nona offended a power family that continues to hound her and seek retribution. There are different abilities people in this world have. Strength, speed, faith and empowerment from the "path". Nona goes into a convent of nuns trained to fight, assassinate, walk the path and follow the faith.
This is the conclusion of Nona's story. The war has come. The time jumps I could do without. The scene that had been hinted at through the books was such a small part, which was disappointing.
I loved the growth of characters. The action, the long game, the war. All great. The ending was a whirl of emotions from happy, sad, bittersweet. While there were some minor disappointments here, overall great series and conclusion.

I almost gave this book 4 stars on account that the ending conflict started halfway through the book and there was just so much, but the fact that I cried during last 20 or so pages and the end was so satisfying, I'll give it 5
