The complexity of plot that began in Network Effect is also featured here. Not a story I reccomend putting down to often due to the high risk of killing those fun "aha" moments as you unravel the mystery behind the events.
It's slower action wise, does not move the larger plot forward but it's definitely more Murderbot and it's definitely welcome, his character is on full display here and their introspection is as fun as it always is. The main characters in Mensa's primary crew get developed some and this tale from the past before the events of Network Effect serve the the main plot well in regards to given future events more weight.
Good stuff.

I can't get enough Murderbot. And now he is a detective for hire! Love this. The snark is so very fulfilling.
Its a short story (2 hrs.) so its not as satisfying as a longer story but I will take it. More please!

I was disappointed reading this after book five. This was a regular murderbot book, I still loved it obviously.

Fun and quick as usual! It's nice now that the humans around Murderbot are more recurring characters instead of a fully rotating cast. Excited to see why the next one (I'm going chronologically, not pub order) is for once an actual full length novel.
