Luca, Chloe & Freddie... <3

Filled with plenty of twists and heart racing moments.

This story follows brothers Luke & Freddie along with there neighbour Chloe and the night they were pulled apart from each other.... and reunited many years later.

There is a lot of sensitive topics in this story so be prepared, but I loved it.

I’m looking forward to “Jackson” releasing in the spring of 2019.

I don’t know what the fuck I just read, but I know I have mixed feelings. Mostly positive, but a few negative. Of course I’ll lay them all out for you; spoilers not included.

The plot - this is a mafia second chance romance, with age gap and enemies to lovers. This has a ton of triggers in it so CHECK YA FUCKIN TRIGGERS PEOPLE. That said, this is a book in a series of interconnected standalones (I think?) It is a HEA, which I adore and was definitely worth it. The smut was good, 3.5/5 on the spice scale for frequency and content. It’s a great romance story. HOWEVER, I cannot get over the whiny ass characters and their back and forth. I get it, you’re all fucked up. Did I have to read about it for 350+ pages? I wish I didn’t. Also, the FMC went on for half the book about how “I had to do it all on my own” and then we got NADA on her backstory. What the fuck was the point in it then?

The MC - Chloe is my main burden with this story. I loved her badass attitude, I loved who she was and what she stood for. But she’s also the most contradictory, hypocritical bitch I have ever had the displeasure of reading about.

The male counterpart - now I’m a feminist so; Luca, you sucked too, my man. I loved you at times, just as I did with Chloe. But for ALL THAT IS LOVE AND HOLY SHUT IT WITH YOUR WHINING. It’s too much. I love you, but shut up.

Nope

Everyone annoyed me in this book. The plot (to me) wasn’t executed properly. The synopsis of this story was amazing, but the actual story was a no for. The story didn’t flow, felt no connection between the characters, and they all annoyed me.

Luca

Soul mates, Luca and Chloe were written in the stars, or at least in her eight year old money nd they were. This book jumps back and forth, showing the moment they met and the important times in their young lives, that sharper their future. Luca was cold on the outlook, not able to express his true feelings for chloe. Less he look weak, but she was a force to be hold. Never giving up , never giving in. There were several situations throughout the story were the book twisted and you didn't know where it would go next. Great read.

Enjoyed the book. The ending was rushed a bit and I didn’t like Luca as much as I wanted to. Otherwise it was quite enjoyable.

This story is not for everyone. It does get quite dark. It's also an emotional love story that spans years. These characters drew me in and held on tight from the very beginning. The subject matter is hard to read at times, but I was so wrapped up in Chloe and Luca that I had to know how it would all come out. So, yes, the story is dramatic, sometimes crazily so, but it's also a beautiful love story about loyalty, family, and perseverance. The characters are engaging and you just can't help but root for their happy ever after. The book is well-written and one I can easily recommend to those who enjoy dark romance.

Nikki J Summers is a 'new to me' author but this definitely won't be the last book I read from this author.

I really loved this book, Luca and Chloe was explosive!

Luca was abit of a douche at first but i still loved him almost instantly he had that air of command around him.

Chloe bloody hell she was a hoot! She was fiesty, she was strong and takes no s**t she's everything I like reading in a female character.

As for the storyline it was great!

Easy to read, had it's oh s**t moments and it's swoony moments it was the perfect balance.

I loved the side characters too like Freddie and Vinnie!

I can't wait to see more from these characters!

This book is a little bit darker and probably not for everyone but I was intrigued from reading the blurb. Luca and Chloe’s story is one wild ride that I enjoyed.

They met when Chloe was eight, and she knew from that moment that Luca was hers and would always be hers. She spent her entire childhood trying to convince Luca that they should be together. She was like a sister to his younger brother, Freddie. But one night Freddie and Luca left and never came back to town. Flash forward a few years and Chloe is back in their lives and both Luca and Freddie will do anything to keep their girl safe.

Nikki Summers is a new to me author and I thoroughly enjoyed this story. I was hooked from the beginning. The bond between Chloe and Luca and Freddie was great. The suspense kept me on the edge of my seat. Like I mentioned earlier, this is a darker story, but it is also sweet. Luca definitely has a soft side that comes out from to time. Chloe was a little rough around the edges for me, she was stubborn and sometimes I just wanted to slap the girl and tell her to get over it. To be fair, I wanted to do that to Luca a few times.

I hope that we get more Luca and Chloe in the future. I also hope that we get more of Freddie, because I adored him. I loved Gina too, okay, I loved all the secondary characters including Vinnie and Marco. I am not ready to say goodbye to them all yet.

For those who love a little bit of a darker romance this is definitely a must read.
