Ordinary Monsters (The Talents Trilogy #1) by J.M. Miro is a historical fantasy novel that I wish I liked more. It started out strongly and everything, but it started to lose my attention somewhere around the halfway mark. Usually I'm all for big books, but while this was a solid read, for me it didn't justify being 672 pages long. I did like the narrator's voice and the world, but just not quite that much. I don't think I'll be back for the rest of the trilogy.

Slow slow start. Maybe just not the right book for me right now.

The audiobook is phenomenal and the last couple hours alone made me cry, super super gripping. Just a little too long and sometimes repetitive or just too convenient

pretty cool, satisfied that itch for constant action.

I do want to know if it was meant to have miss peregrine’s home to peculiar children energy. I’m refusing to google that though cause I feel like I’d be a bit disappointed if that is the case.

3 for now. I listen to it from the library and it was ok. I'm going to go back to it later. After the holiday and all the books challenges.

My favorite genre seems to be tales of strange children and terrible adults. Or: read this book. It is long, yes, but it reads quickly and it will stay with you once you finish. Pinky promise.
