Beautiful metaphors. I picked up this book not exactly knowing what to expect, other than knowing it talked about a queer woman's experience with domestic abuse. It was a great read, and the author paints their life very well.
Graphic: Domestic abuse, Toxic relationship, and Emotional abuse
Moderate: Lesbophobia and Homophobia

This book is breathtakingly written and unbearably painful, but it is important. Machado writes about how our idea of love is built and broken, built and broken, and built to be broken again. I tore through this book, and I have come away with two words to describe the story it tells: excruciatingly human.
