I would give a 3.5 star if possible :)
Such an eye-opening experience reading this book. As I look back at myself, I realize I am one of the typical women that Lambert mentioned: easy to get, just-want-a-boyfriend, too nice to say no and too naive to get the other person's motive. This book is not only about dating/ dating tactics but also about how you should love and treasure yourself.
Dating is a complicated yet simple game. Girls read thousands of advice on dating and how to look stunning to get a boyfriend. But first, love yourself, and if you want to date yourself, other people will, too.
Though not all the parts of the book are satisfying, there are points that Lambert made so well. And Lambert has taught me this:
- Employment and education don't make you special. Women with employment and education are everywhere. You are not that special so stop talking about what floor your office is located or how much you earn.
- Nobody gives you a cookie for overcoming life challenges. So stop complaining.
- Be a spartan, not a weak b*tch :)

This is a phenomenal read.

You should especially read it if you’re the kind that feels like men are intimidated by your intelligence and you struggle to find people on your wavelength. The truth is much, much harsher lmao.

It’s better to know, even if it hurts, than to be an NPC and used by men for the rest of your life.

This also works as a primer on how to have self esteem for women. It’s ironic that the most fierce, pro-woman message is coming from a man, and one who seems to be a player, but like all things related to the human condition, the answers are never straightforward or agreeable.

I couldn't get past the second chapter. I made the mistake of getting the audiobook on the recommendation of a friend and it felt like I voluntarily signed up for verbal abuse. I wouldn't recommend this book to anyone. If you're having trouble dating save your self-help book money and get a therapist. A lot of them charge on a sliding scale.

Can we have books that teach you should treat each other like people? This is a sociopathic way to view the world, and should be called for what it is.

The book had some good points on changing the way you see yourself as a person and to become more confident in your skin. But I found the terminology a little cringeworthy, but maybe I wasn’t able to take advantage of all the advice as I might not have been ‘ready’ to take the advice at this moment in my life.

Okay, where the hell do I even begin? This is by far the best non-fiction book I’ve ever read! No joke.

I come into this book thinking “oh this is probably a normal cliche “be hard to get” dating book.”
But holy shit! This book was a complete mind fuck. The interesting part is that Lambert talks more about gaining that inner confidence (Spartan the hell up) rather than cliche “follow the rules” dating.

This was a fun, mind altering read for me. Obviously I’m recommending this to everyone.

You rocked it G.L. Lambert!
