Quite possibly the most perfect beach read, Elizabeth Gilbert seems like the ideal person you’d want to entertain you with stories about her life while sipping a frosty drink with your toes in the sand and contemplating what you’re going to have for dinner.

I liked the journey but not her attitude. She seemed arrogant

For years I've been saying that I only read the 'Eat' part of Eat Pray Love. Given that I'm half-Italian, this makes sense. I've finally finished and while I can say that I enjoyed the book, 'Eat' was still my favourite part. (Ugh, I'm so hungry). Gilbert is a lovely writer; warm, funny and brutally honest. I love the spiritual exploration - the tidbits of knowledge scattered all about. All in all, a friendly Guide for women who want a life change!

Re-read as an audiobook. Read this as a teenager and it didn’t resonate with me then, still doesn’t resonate with me now lol

Saw the movie ... really want to read the book (doesn't normally happen with movies for me). Also don't normally go for the "Oprah-Hyped" books, but several people have told me how great it was.

Honestly, I don’t know what compelled me to read this, but I’m really glad I did. I hesitate to make my review “not as White Feminist™ as I thought it’d be!!!!” But to not mention that that was a huge concern before starting, and an excellent takeaway after finishing, would be unfair to explaining how I came to enjoy it. Really beautifully written, well-measured, and (because you’re wondering!) probably only 7-10% white feminist.
