Absolutely beautiful book! I highlighted so many quotes, not as many as I thought I would but they had meaning so deep for me that made up for the quantity.

I'm such a snob. I so didn't want to read this book, but a friend whose opinion I trust insisted I'd like it. She was kind of right. It was a fun read, and I was surprised at how much I got into it at first. However, by the third and last section, the author's self-absorption was killing me.

I liked it!

It was more like a diary. I was looking for more talk about meditation, but it didn't "teach" much of it. Otherwise, the story was interesting. Though it could include more details, in my idea. I recommend reading it, if you have the time.

I wanted to love this book. It had every element that I devour: travel, food, romance. But something stopped me. The book was extremely well written and Gilbert is an immensely likable person. Yet, when I put the book down, I wasn't compelled to pick it back up again and finally, I had to say, "Enough's enough; finish this already." Not sure what my deal was with it. I think I'm the only person alive not to go ga-ga here.

I couldn't love a book more than I loved this one. Elizabeth Gilbert is a phenomenal author and so amazingly transported me into every experience she had. This just invigorated my desire to travel to more beauties of the world, and I can't wait to do just that!
