“Life, unfortunately, doesn't seem to care what we want.”

“Sometimes the greatest tests of our strength are situations that don't seem so obviously dangerous. Sometimes surviving is the hardest thing of all.”

This series is finally over. I would’ve loved it at 16. But too predictable in my old age. Still relatively enjoyed it overall.

Yes I finished this in one day, 14 hours straight! No way could I put it down and no way could I not know if Rose and Dimitri ended up together! I should have savored it, but there's always re-reads.

Where do I begin? Well, the book to me was non-stop action, maybe even too much action! It was heart-pumping excitement! It was intriguing with the two crucial mysteries that needed solving and the race against the clock. How could anyone put this down?!!

The sigh-worthy love story between R and D couldn't get any better, so well developed and such a perfect ending!!! I loved the little moments between them and watching their relationship get repaired. They've been through so much, I just wanted happiness for them, I actually wanted it much sooner than it occurred, but I'll take it regardless.

Lissa's growth was wonderful to witness, we always knew she had it in her, she just had to realize it and own it. And that she did, her performance in the tests and her speech was so awesome. All hail Queen Vasilisa Dragomir!!! Christian was such a great supportive boyfriend, he really matured a lot. I felt for him, losing his crazy Aunt, his only family, poor guy. They'll need each other in the future that's for sure.

Well Jill is in for a whole lot of craziness in the Royal Court, will she make it? I believe she is the focus of the spin-off because the title is Bloodlines. I know Sidney will also be in the spin-off, but I'm not convinced that she'll be the main focus, idk, we'll see when more info is released. I also have a feeling Adrian and Jill will end up together, I know he's much older, but you never know.

That brings me to Adrian, ugh, poor guy really didn't have a chance. His reprimand of Rose at the end was brutal, I really felt for him but dammit he really rained on my parade! He made the ending very bittersweet, pounding home the fact that many lives were/could be ruined by the events that took place and yes I guess I will admit, by Rose herself. Was she selfish? I guess so, but geez look at what she was dealing with.

Oh Dimitri how I love thee, seriously that man is a dream come true! The sexy, sweet, strong, loyal, protective Russian god came back to us, yippeee!! It was great to see him embracing life and realizing it was worth living. Roza was really dense for not seeing through his actions earlier! I guess I understand why, she didn't want to believe it or trust it, he stomped her heart "Love fades. Mine has." ugh, nearly killed me. But he came around better than ever. Witnessing Sonya's restoration (I can't think of the right word) and helping her deal had a huge impact on him, thus making his "recovery" believable.

Rose was amazing, badass, vulnerable, determined, loyal, resourceful, witty but subdued, and wise yet dumb. Her growth and maturity really shown through in this journey. She could conquer the world and pity to anyone who gets in her way, she's a force to be reckoned with. But she couldn't do it alone and that was the main lesson she learned. I was also happy to see her relationship with her parents improve so much, again showing her maturity. Oh and Abe threatening Dimitri at the end was hilarious! Love Abe!

So now that brings me to the end- Jill is the illegitimate child of Eric Dragomir, Tasha killed the Queen, Rose gets shot (I had to read really fast to avoid bawling, then I got to the next chapter and could breathe again!) but not killed, the bond is broken between Lissa and Rose due to her near death experience and bringing herself back, Rose is Lissa's Guardian, Dimitri is Christian's Guardian, Adrian is pissed off and left alone, and Rose and Dimitri end up together happy in love WOOOOOOOOOOTTTTTT!!!!!!! I could've dealt with seeing more of their HEA and future, so I hope they appear in the spin off series.

All in all, this series was fantastic, it nearly killed me in several parts, but so worth it!! All hail Richelle Mead!

And so we come to an end of a collection!
These books, I have no words. They are so good, and just keep getting better and better with each one! I loved every bit of them. All the raw emotion that made me feel it was insane!
I couldn’t be happier with the outcome of this series and I for sure going to keep this one in my top favs!

This started off with a bag but quickly became a bit boring. I honestly expected a lot more action and twists and turns from the last book in a 6 book series. The ending was satisfying even though they did my poor baby, Adrian dirty.

Overall, the VA series was a fun & nostalgic time and I can’t believe it took me 15 years to finally read it. A part of me even kinda wants to pick up Bloodlines now lol.
