Going into this book I expected the history of pappy van winkle, what I got was so much more. From starting out at the very beginning of the legacy to moving into what supporting a legacy in a new market and time looks like this book covers it all. It's not only a story about a legendary bourbon maker but also a story about the relationship over time between a father and son.

I recently moved away from Kentucky to across the country and I didn’t realize how much I wanted a piece of home until I read this. Truly a love letter to Kentucky.

Pros: The Pappy history is fun and seems legit.
The writing is solid
The author is invested in the story
It is short
Cons: I could have read this as an article and enjoyed it just the same
The story is really about the author, not about the bourbon
The books jumps around and doesn't have a good flow.
